RLSC Training Programme 2017
RLSC is a RYA Recognised Training Establishment; it meets RYA standards and acts in accordance with RYA development plans. We have available the following training courses for 2017:
For New and Novice Members
The club will be open on 1st May for our Open Day and also on 13th May for taster sailing sessions. So if you would like to find out more, just turn up on the open day or to book a slot for a taster session on 13th May email us here.
We run two levels of courses, depending on demand.
The Start Sailing course is for beginners/complete novices (Level 1)
The Better Sailing course is for those who have completed a start sailing course or those who are novice sailors (Level 2)
2 Days Cost; £110 – We plan to run courses over two days each on Saturdays. Weekday courses may be arranged on request. These courses will cater for both levels.

‘Go Sailing’ Sessions, and Taster Sessions
In May, June and July as part of the Club sailing programme for all club members to encourage sailing and including help to consolidate learning for those who have attended RYA training courses, or who plan to attend training courses. Please see the calendar for more details. The main sessions for novice sailors are 1. After Jybaz sessions from approx. 3pm on Saturdays and 2. Wednesday afternoon and evenings from about 3pm whenever Wednesday racing is shown in the calendar.
For Existing and more Experienced Sailors
Dinghy Instructor & Assistant Dinghy Instructor Refresher Day/ Coaching Day.
1 day for all RLSC instructors Cost; Free to participating club members
RYA Coach to deliver the training; Funded by the RYA

Race Coach Training
We will be running a RYA Race Coaching Course on 11th/12th March

Power Boat Training
We will be running subsidised RYA Level 2 Power Boat Training courses. Members of the club who are willing to join the Cox rota can do this course at a significantly reduced rate including all course materials and log books. Non members or those not willing to be Coxes will need to pay the full cost of £225.
The course will run over 2 days
18th and 19th February
29th & 30th May
Other dates will be arranged.

General advice on a typical RYA training course
Please note that in addition to the course fees, non members are required to join the club for insurance purposes. Normally an Associate or Junior/Student membership is ideal. For more information on membership and for forms, please click here.

For RYA Start and Better courses please arrive at the club from 9 – 9,20am for the initial briefing at 9.30 am on the day of the course. Lunch will be provided as part of the course cost.
A typical RYA training day will run until 4.30 – 5 pm on each day. Weather permitting
