Commodore’s Cogitations #4 Vikings Ahoy

What a fantastic weekend. Photos and news from the Viking Visit to follow but first a few other things

Fitting Out Supper – this Sunday 5.30pm

We will be having an informal meal on Sunday 9th April after sailing. Please could you email me (mark@jacot.co.uk) if you would like to come along so we know if we have enough numbers. Please email by end of WEDNESDAY night. The meal will be £5.50 for a main and dessert course – if it is as good as the viking meal (which was fantastic) then you are in for a treat.

We still have two unidentified trailers in the boat park. One is a Enterprise or similar style with White Mudguards. The other is a stacking trailer (anyone who can identifiy exactly what it is meant for, please let us know). If you are the owner, this is the third and FINAL request to claim it, otherwise they will be disposed of. Anyone interested in purchasing one or either, let me know. Rudyard Mollusc – Invasive Species

Yes that was an April Fool! I would not want anyone worrying into the summer about an invasive species (or speed limits for that matter).

Training – First Aid and Power Boat level 2

We are running a First Aid course on 28th April, and a Power Boat level 2 course in late may. Both are heavily subsidised. Power Boat is great fun and an internationally recognised qualification.

First Aid is essential for instructors and also needed to get the next level of Power Boat qualification (Safety Boat) that we will be running later in the year. We strongly prefer all our Coxes to have First Aid Qualifications

Power Boat Level 2

What a fantastic weekend. It turned out that they don’t get to sail very often, so this was a training weekend to learn how to sail the boat. By all accounts it went very well, and they have already enquired about returning later in the season. There are lots of photos and videos on Facebook but here are a few from Saturday
